In an eerie sequel to last month's snow we got snow overnight on Sunday and woke up to a very white ground Monday morning.  Unlike last time, there was a lot of I won't say 'panic' buying, but strategic stocking up of essentials.  This meant that many supermarkets were entirely wiped out of bread etc by yesterday and that there were huge queues for firewood.  It's been an interesting week and as late as last night my friends were saying 'no we won't get snow, it's all just overreactions' - however get it we did.  It's at least as deep as it was last time and is expected to keep falling over the next 2 days and for the actual snow itself not to melt for a week.  This could be a fascinating time :D  The snow itself is a bit different to last time as well.  It's lighter, more powdery and thus has already turned to slush.  That means that it's going to be more hazardous this time when it freezes overnight (we're at almost freezing point now and it's not yet 6pm) and will be 'fun' once it gets the new dumping that they expect to return overnight.

Here are some pictures.  Sorry Dreamwidth, this is going to be an LJ only thing coz I like their upload system way better - if you want to see them pictures follow the crosspost link :D
