The Doctor writes fanfic?

rumpelsnorcackI got distracted this morning by an article in the local newspaper about Doctor Who, as you do. While reading I came across this little gem by Matt Smith:
"I had to wait for scripts, of course, to really sort of inform the man, but I knew that he was really clever, and silly a bit like Einstein. So I started writing some short stories about the Doctor and Einstein."
I don't know why it pleases me so much that some of our Doctors are sort of closet fandomers but it does.
